BE Student Wins International Award for Research Presentation
News Release - Logan, Utah, May 2017 - Biological Engineering's Ph.D. candidate, Anna Doloman, won an international award at the International Conference on Biogas Microbiology.
Anna Doloman, PhD candidate, won Best Poster Award at the International Conference on Biogas Microbiology that was held at Wageningen University, The Netherlands, May 1-3, 2017. Anna presented her research on "Modeling de novo granulation of anaerobic sludge," which addresses an waste-to-energy recovery process referred to as the Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket Reactor (UASB) that has been a collaboration among Utah industry (WesTech Inc.), the State of Utah Science Technology and Research (USTAR) program, and the BE and Computer Science Departments at USU. Anna's major professor is Dr. Charles Miller in the BE Department.
