Introduction to BMES Student Chapter
Recently, multidisciplinary teaching and training requires a conscious effort to apply knowledge, principles, and/or values to more than one academic discipline simultaneously. The primary goal of Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES)’s student chapter is to educate the future leaders of the profession and prepare them for multidisciplinary research fields, Biomedical Engineering.
BMES charters and supports more than 100 BMES student chapters. Utah State University (USU) BMES student chapter has been approved in May, 2010. For rising biomedical engineers, these chapters offer the chance to establish leadership and collaboration, publish, and participate in a wide range of activities that will enhance their careers.
Student chapters in good standing receive a complimentary subscription to the BMES monthly journal, the Annals of Biomedical Engineering, and the quarterly journal Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering. Chapters will also receive the new Cardiovascular and Engineering Technology quarterly journal, which launches in March 2010. All student members receive the quarterly BMES Bulletin, BMES's member newsletter, which includes a "Student Chapter News" column highlighting photos of chapter activities and articles on issues of concern.
